Poppaq the Fish (ポパック・ザ・フィッシュ) is an action game, originally developed by Mass Tael and published by ASCII for the MSX personal computers in 1984.
Poppaq the Fish received an unlicensed port for the Sega Master System in South Korea, appearing on several multicarts. In all versions ported to the system, the game is named Bogle Bogle (a title used for Bubble Bobble); mentions of Mass Tael are removed, the copyright year is changed and the player plus difficulty selection screens are skipped, limiting the gameplay to just one player.
Multicart appearances
- Super Game 150 (as 보글 보글)
- Super Game World 75 Hap (as 보글보글)
- Super Multi Game: Super 125 in 1 (as Bogle Bogle)
While the original MSX version had an actual bootleg release by Clover in the country, the Master System versions credits either San Ho (likely Sang Ho Software due to a bootleg conversion of Super Mario Bros. 3 in MAME being available) or Screen (Screen Software). San Ho version is also dated earlier as of 1987, while the Screen version is dated 1990.
