Power Ball AD2001 (파워볼 AD2001) is an unreleased Sega Mega Drive volleyball game developed by HiCom. Originally planned for a 1994/1995 South Korean release, the dwindling life of the Mega Drive ultimately saw the nearly-completed game cancelled entirely.[1][2]

Gameplay

History

Samsung announced the game's completion in the January 1995 issue of Game World.[3]

Development

As far as I know, Powerball was almost completed, but cancelled due to the rapid transition of platforms. After the followup console, the Saturn, was released, no one saw any market value in Mega Drive games, anymore.

HiCom programmer Jason Park[2]

Power Ball AD2001 was the first game developed by Samsung's internal game development studios, and was produced to support the company's rebranding of the Mega Drive, the Super Aladdin Boy.[4]
