10SIX beta increases by 505% since public release

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (Dec 2, 1999) HEAT.NET announced today the availability of a pre-sell subscription package for 10SIXÔ, the only massively multiplayer game for action-strategy gamers, that will include a limited edition game CD and poster, and a free month of play. Only two short weeks following the call for beta-testers, the Planet Visitor's population has exploded and continues to grow rapidly.

The now densely populated free public beta will continue until the game goes live. With an expected release date in early 2000, beta players and newbies will be able to download the game on the 10SIX channel at HEAT.NET for either $9.95 for one month, $25.95 for three months or $49.95 for six months of continuous 10SIX gameplay. Only during the month of December players can pre-order their limited edition subscription package for 10SIX.

"It's exciting to see how Planet Vistor will take shape as the population increases and corporations grow," said Rob Alvarez, product marketing manager, 10SIX. "As the players change and evolve so will the world and inevitably the way the game is played. This beta-test is the best way to help us prepare action strategy gamers for the best persistent-world game experience to date."

The rush of beta players has transformed the world into a frenzy of activity and an intense competition between individuals and the four corporations. As is typical with persistent world games, the beta players have already found new ways to play and even a few sneaky ways to edge out their competitors. The mutual defense networks (MDN) within each of the corporations are forming by the hundreds. Some use this network to strictly build alliances while others form for their own, sometimes self-interested, purposes. A group of "Gun Runners" spend their time attacking any and all corporations in return for the game's currency, Trasium or better weaponry. Another growing trend are bounty hunters who hunt down groups of settlers for profits or revenge. 10SIX operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even when players are not signed on. It's a world where weapons and equipment are bought, sold and traded. A massive war effort is brewing between four competing corporations vying for planetary dominance and everyone struggles to survive. Gamers are invited to sign up for the 10SIX beta today.
