New HEAT, 10SIX and "HEAT Seeker" among the treats in store at GDC

SAN FRANCISCO (March 6, 2000) -- HEAT.NET, the world's largest core online PC games community, will be a force to be reckoned with at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) March 10 - 12 in San Jose, CA. Visitors to the HEAT.NET booth (No. 1048) will glimpse the future of PC online gaming by taking a sneak peek at Phase 1 of the newly revamped HEAT.NET interface, the new HEAT logo, test-driving the world's first million-player game and, perhaps, enjoying some quality time with "HEAT Seeker," the human mascot. "There has been strong growth in the online gaming business over the last three years and HEAT.NET is proud to lead the way with the best core gaming community and the biggest and best selection of games available anywhere online," said Greg Chiemingo, vice president, marketing, HEAT.NET. "The community-building features, new games and other performance enhancements that will come with the rollout of the new HEAT are guaranteed to secure our leadership role in online gaming. We invite the industry to visit our booth at GDC to witness these improvements for themselves." With more than 2.5 million registered members and over 160 games, HEAT.NET is the largest core online PC games community.

GDC attendees will also have an opportunity to check out 10SIX, the world's first million-player action-strategy/adventure game. Introduced on HEAT last week, 10SIX is a persistent online universe, a place where all the action, drama and treachery of a four-way corporate quest for a planet's energy resources goes on 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 10SIX players buy and sell weapons, form alliances and betray each other regularly. Whether or not you're logged on, the action is non-stop at 10SIX. Gamers can download 10Six at www.10six.com and take advantage of a 7-day FREE trial period. In addition to checking out Phase 1 of the new HEAT and 10SIX, GDC attendees will want to keep an eye peeled for HEAT Seeker. Clad in his trademarked superhero costume, HEAT Seeker will be circulating on the GDC floor, handing out valuable prizes and inviting selected guests back to the HEAT booth for private one-on-one briefings on the future of online gaming. "The future of online gaming in the 21st century will begin at this year's GDC," said Chiemingo. "That future will glow with HEAT."
