ACCLAIM BEGINS SHIPMENT OF SEGA SOFTWARE

OYSTER BAY, N.Y., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Building on the continued growth of the 16-bit interactive entertainment software market, Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKLM), confirmed today it has started shipping its first Sega software to market -- four titles for Sega's 16-bit Genesis(TM) video game system, and two titles for Sega's portable Game Gear(TM).

The Simpsons(TM): Krusty's Super Fun House, Ferrari Grand Prix Challenge(TM), Steel Empire(TM) and Arch Rivals(R) for Genesis; and George Foreman's KO Boxing(TM) and Spider-Man(R) are being launched on Acclaim's new label, Flying Edge, and are expected to begin reaching retail shelves by the end of the month.

"Our Nintendo titles are strong sellers at retail and we anticipate the same success for their Genesis and Game Gear counterparts. Acclaim executives say the company will also showcase more than 40 new software products across five gaming formats -- including those of Nintendo and Sega -- at the Summer Consumer Electronics Show in Chicago this month.
