Miss Florida Homecoming Queen, Michelle Ramsey, finished in the top 10 when she competed for the title of America's Homecoming Queen.

For these achievements, America's Homecoming Queen Inc. gave Michelle a scholarship for $500 to go toward her college education.

William Rodriguez, 14, of St. Cloud, won honorable mention in the Howard Johnson Kids Go HoJo International Video Game Championship Finals.

William and 32 other children played Sega video games for points.

Patricia Kant of The Prudential Florida Realty's Orlando office was honored for eight years of service as a Big Sister at the annual "Big Brothers/Big Sisters Awards Picnic."

Jeffrey Cashion, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Cashion, earned his black belt in karate at Central Florida Championship Karate.

Jeffrey, 12, is the youngest student to earn the black belt at his school. He attends Tuskawilla Middle School, Oviedo.

The musicians in the Gift of Music Foundation, under the leadership of Leroy Fisher, donated their time to present the Calvacade of Bands, which raised money for a nonprofit organization.

Richard Adragna, Technology Education teacher at Liberty Middle School, was selected as one of the inductees into the Northern New Jersey Hall of Fame.

Adragna, who played and coached football at Memphis State University, has been involved with high school, college and professional football.

Nikisha Bronson, a Bishop Moore High School senior, was named College Park Rotary Student of the Month.

Nikisha's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Theotis Bronson of Windermere.

Josh Goldberg from Longwood was honored as Volunteer of the Year for his work at the Brass Ring Society and at Valencia Community College.

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program of Orange County honored their 1,271 volunteers for their 222,860 hours of service during the past year at RSVP's 21st annual Recognition Luncheon.

Amy Hunter, an eighth-grader at Sanford Middle School, was selected for the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Amy plays trumpet for the orchestra and for the Sanford Middle School advanced and jazz bands.

Robert L. Boyer, an English teacher at Oak Ridge High School, was recently named to the 1994-95 national list of Who's Who Among American High School Teachers.

Boyer is retired from the Marine Corps.

Melodee Frye, Longwood, was named Independent Telephone Pioneer of the Year during the 26th Annual Florida State Chapter ITPA Convention.

She was recognized for her involvement with the Carl Hill Galloway Pioneer Club ITPA as well as her volunteer support of the Jon Voight Memorial Foundation.

Susan Vargo, a 1994 honors graduate of Dr. Phillips High School, where she was president of the Thespian Society and drama club, is attending DePaul University in Chicago.

Susan is a Presidential Scholar and a recipient of the Dean's Theater Studies award at DePaul University.

Susan is the daughter of Jim and Dottie Vargo of Windermere.

Stetson University sophomore English major Brantley Craig of Orlando was named opinions editor of The Stetson Reporter.

He is the son of Charles and Elizabeth Craig, Orlando, and a graduate of Boone High School, Orlando.

Rachel Currie of Chuluota was selected to attend The National Young Leaders Conference in Washington.

Rachel, a junior at Oviedo High School, will be among 350 outstanding National Scholars from across America attending the conference.

Tommie Thompson was named "Grandparent of the Year" by Orlando Regional Medical Center in recognition of National Grandparents' Day.

Thompson, an Orlando resident, was nominated for the award by his stepdaughter.

Ad 2 Greater Orlando, a group of young advertising and marketing professionals, recently selected Life Concepts Inc. to be the recipient of their 1994-1995 Public Service Campaign.

Ad 2 Greater Orlando will donate their talents to design an advertising campaign for Life Concepts Inc.

The Wm. P. Duval Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently honored their three women veterans for their military service during 1992-1995.

Dr. Elizabeth Hoover served in the Navy as a WAVE, Barbara Daley in the Coast Guard as a SPAR and Mildred Orlitzki in the Womens Army Air Corps.

All three received certificates of recognition from the chapter.
