Tibbatts Associates has been appointed to design the 9750m2 interiors of Sega Europe’s indoor virtual reality theme-park at the London Trocadero. As team leader, the Birmingham consultancy is responsible for designing, fitting out and lighting Segaworld.

Tibbatts is working with architect RTKL, which is developing the building’s public spaces, the north, south and basement malls and is extending the atrium to the eighth floor. The design will “incorporate largescale dark rides and individual amusements, all in a themed environment over five floors”, says group managing director Neil Tibbatts.

The consultancy, which was approached by Sega Europe, also works for The Rank Organisation, and revamped Blackpool Tower for its 100th anniversary.
