REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 29, 1995--Just two months after its national launch in the United States, Sega Saturn is going on the road, taking its out-of-this-world game experiences to more than 25 cities with the Lollapalooza music festival this summer.

Sega Saturn, the ultimate video game system designed specifically to deliver a compelling, immersive game experience totally different from any other system, will headline as the concert tour's exclusive interactive entertainment vendor.

Sega's participation with the Lollapalooza concert tour is part of its key marketing strategy to attract the young, entertainment- hungry consumer.

"Sega Saturn's involvement with the Lollapalooza concert tour couldn't be more appropriate," said Tim Dunley, director of marketing for Sega Saturn. "By teaming up together, we can effectively reach a broad cross-section of the cutting-edge, techno-savvy 18-35-year-olds that we feel define the Sega Saturn market, in a fun, laid-back forum."

The 10 x 20 Sega Saturn booth will reside in Lollapalooza's "Mindfield" on the main midway of each concert venue starting July 4 in George, Wash. More than 15 Sega Saturn interactive units will be set up in each Lollapalooza venue, offering free and unprecedented gameplay to concert goers.

Arcade hits such as Virtua Fighter" and "Daytona U.S.A."; original titles such as "Panzer Dragoon" and "Clockwork Knight"; and killer sports titles such as "Worldwide Soccer" and "Pebble Beach Golf Links" will be featured.

"Talking about how awesome a video game looks and plays is one thing," added Dunley. "Putting it in their hands and having them experience the adrenaline rush of games like `Virtua Fighter' and `Daytona U.S.A.' is quite another."

The Lollapalooza tour begins during the Fourth of July weekend in George and will travel to 25 cities across the nation, culminating in Sega's back yard at San Francisco's Shoreline Amphitheatre in August.

Lollapalooza `95's main stage artists include Sonic Youth, Hole, Cypress Hill, Pavement, Sinead O'Connor, Beck, the Jesus Lizard and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. The tour will play 29 concerts in 25 cities across the country.
