KONAMI (AMERICA) INC. TACKLES COMPETITIVE FOOTBALL SIMULATION CATEGORY WITH ALL-STAR HIT.

"NFL Full Contact" Joins The Critically-Acclaimed Konami Sports Series As The Most Realistic, Superior Football Game Ever Created for Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL--(May, 1996)--In a field crowded with popular, top-notch gaming challenges, it takes a true champion to stand out from the pack. A game with action that’s so intense, true-to-life NFL teams that make it so realistic, and technologically advanced graphics and production that make it so broadcast quality no true football fan could sit this one out. So it is with NFL Full Contact, the ground-breaking, action-packed football simulation game from Konami (America) Inc. introduced at E3 for the Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn.

NFL Full Contact has been designed by the original John Madden Football programmer and the results speak for themselves. All 30 of the real NFL teams, complete with individual player ratings team up in the most realistic and detailed football simulation game ever. Adding to this realism are innovative simulation elements, which include over 60 real NFL behaviors modeled for EACH player, a unique under-the-helmet perspective and complex and unparalleled Artificial Intelligence that give gamers a true bone-crunching, full-body tackling, all-out run for their money football experience.

"At Konami, we’ve spent years building consumer confidence in our sports titles by providing unparalleled excellence across any playing field, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly," states Andrew Donchak, Konami (America) Inc. consumer division president. "Gamers can rest assured NFL Full Contact will give them a totally new and incredibly realistic football feel, the likes of which they’ve never experienced on PlayStation or Saturn."

Gamers grapple on the gridiron in broadcast quality 3D, achieved through SGI graphics complete with motion capture to provide the most realistic team and player movement yet. NFL Full Contact goes the distance with game stats, Playoffs and Super Bowl challenges and even includes amusing "Ump" moves from the Stutter Step to the Forearm Shimmy. Even the crowd gets into the game, with cheers, jeers and other appropriate reactions.

Mark Porwit, division vice president, planning, adds, "NFL Full Contact is serious, competitive football action. This is as real as it gets, and we’ve pulled out all the stops on this one. The playing action really gets you in the game, plus the multi-view options, including zooming and tilting, instant replay and crisp, realistic graphic production take this title out of football play into the next generation of football simulation."
