SEGA FIGHTS ELECTION FATIGUE ACTION-PACKED TV PROGRAMME TO RELIEVE THE BOREDOM

Sega hopes to relieve pre-election boredom by screening its own action-packed infomercial on Channel Four this weekend. Viewers will even be offered a free Saturn games disk to provide hours of on-screen entertainment, so avoiding the non-stop election coverage.

"The longest general election campaign in recent British history has generated all-time high levels of boredom, particularly amongst teenagers," says Jo Bladen, Sega's UK Marketing Director. "Interest in videogaming and sales of our Saturn console have increased in the last few weeks as people desperately seek alternative TV-based entertainment."

This weekend's infomercial features a five-minute blitz of stunning videogame action, exclusive previews of the hottest new Saturn titles and the first ever showing on British TV of the awe-inspiring Silicon-graphics sequences from Virtua Fighter 3 -- the legendary Sega game that has taken arcades by storm.

To provide hours of top-quality entertainment, Sega will offer viewers a free Saturn games disk featuring some of Sega's hottest new games. By simply calling a telephone hotline number, which will be announced on the show, gamers will receive the disk well ahead of 1st May.

Sega's groundbreaking programme has even been allocated its own Videoplus code to ensure gamers can easily record it to watch time and time again. Simply key in 2642815 and enjoy the action.

The Sega show, Channel 4 at 3.30am on Saturday night/Sunday morning.
