SCORCHING NEW SATURN GAMES FROM SUPER-COOL SEGA 15th May, 1997 Cancel the summer holiday. Forget the suntan. Cash in the currency. Sega has got a supercool launch schedule to keep Saturn gamers glued to their consoles all summer. Star of the dazzling new Saturn line up is Fighters Megamix. This killer game is the latest offering from Sega's legendary AM2 team and is the baddest beat em up available on any system. "Sega is 'Tekken' on all comers with Fighters Megamix. We have put the best beat-'em-up characters into a single game and included the special moves from Virtua Fighter 3 to give gamers the hottest fighting title ever," comments Jo Bladen, Sega's Marketing Director. Other additions to the 200-plus Saturn library include Scorcher, the latest title to be launched first on Saturn, and Pandemonium adding to Saturn's growing selection of brilliant 3D platform adventures. The game brings the awesome Virtua Fighters and Fighting Vipers head-to-head for the biggest grudge match in console history. The AM2 development team has brought Sega's top two fighting teams together to give Saturn gamers an exclusive of the best ever beat-'em-up action. Eleven characters from Virtua Fighter 2 are lined up to face eleven challengers from Fighting Vipers and the game features ten additional hidden characters to give an unbeatable 32 fighter battle bonanza. Fighters Megamix includes the console debut of many special moves from Virtua Fighter 3 including the ground-breaking 'escape' and 'dodge' manoeuvres. Scorcher - Sega Saturn - 15 May - £39.99 - First on Saturn Scorcher is a futuristic bike racing simulation set in the year 2021 when the planet's cities have become abandoned wastelands and people do battle on hovering speed bikes. Players take the controls of a speed bike and challenge other racers in a fight to the finish on six amazingly designed tracks. The game's tracks are packed with a variety of treacherous obstacles and corners to test players' handling skills. Scorcher includes 'Championship' and 'Time attack' modes to keep gameplay active. A number of valuable power-ups are scattered throughout the game to help riders with the tough tracks. Items include extra energy, speed boosters, bike repair, extra weapons and armour to fend off attacks from other racers. Scorcher features super smooth high-resolution graphics with excellent light effects and appropriately, an industrial dance soundtrack. Pandemonium - Sega Saturn - 12th June - £39.99 Take a trip through the amazing world of Lyr in this 3D platform adventure with the choice of two playable characters, Fargus the Jester and Nikki the carnival acrobat. The game features 18 diverse levels, which showcase the Saturn's polygon rendering and graphics handling capabilities with stunning lighting and transparency special effects. Pandemonium has some of the most impressive end bosses seen in recent times and breathtaking bonus stages that add to the enjoyment of this mystical and magical game. The hot action is set to continue on Saturn with a host of triple-A titles due for 'Only on' or 'First on' release in the coming year.
