Ubi Soft adventure thriller unravels an open-ended plot filled with adventure and intrigue

LOS ANGELES-- (May 11, 2000) – Danger and deceit are underlying in this thriller for Sega Dreamcast™, as players attempt to solve a murder mystery in the Ubi Soft® Entertainment adventure game, Arcatera, The Dark Brotherhood. Developed by Westka Entertainment, Arcatera delivers a non-linear RPG/Adventure storyline with a time-twisting hitch. The player must solve the murder mystery within the given three week time period, (in actual game time).

Enter the realm of Arcatera as various quests and sub-quests give leeway to unforeseen adventures, with several different endings depending upon the player’s success. In the murky world of Arcatera, the medieval town of Senora is in turmoil. The Black Sun, a dark brotherhood, has been gradually seizing control of the town and its occupants. The player must choose from various quests and adventures to overcome, thereby resulting in either his/her victory or dismal shame.

As events transpire around the gamer, leaving clues as to their cause, the player must decipher these clues and act accordingly. Numerous obstacles and vicious foes will confront the player as he attempts to unweave the mystery and progress through the game. Casts devastating spells alongside the use of group battle tactics, to defeat enemies and uncover the truth before the given time.

Set in a highly detailed world, with more than 200 locations and over 120 interactive characters, Arcatera immerses gamers into fantastic, 2D pre-rendered medieval environments. With complete freedom of action, players can interact with the surroundings and are free to solve the enigmas in whichever order they choose. Set to deliver deep gameplay with an open-ended plot, Arcatera is sure to intrigue RPG/Adventure gamers, as well as, heroic fantasy fans.
