Co-created by filmmaker Steven Spielberg, the Newport on the Levee GameWorks combines unique entertainment, casual dining and two specialty bars with state-of-the-art games and attractions

Newport, KY, March 15, 2002 - GameWorks¨, the incredible high-tech entertainment, restaurant and bar experience, is opening the doors today to the newest, most exciting destination in Newport, KY. The 25,000 square foot venue, located at the Newport on the Levee complex and adjacent to downtown Cincinnati, is the ultimate place for guests to drink, dine, socialize and enjoy the latest in state-of-the-art fun.

Today local celebrities and special guests were wowed at a Grand Opening VIP party with over 100 state-of-the-art games and attractions surrounded by delicious specialties from the Jax Grill restaurant and signature cocktails from the chic Hopscotch Lounge and the centrally located Arena Bar. "GameWorks is FUN," said Ron Lam, CEO of GameWorks. "It's the perfect place to come for a date, host a corporate event, bring the family or meet friends. Our two incredible bars and outstanding interactive entertainment, along with great food and a wonderful environment make this the ultimate night out."

The new location brings the total number of GameWorks units operating in the U.S. to 13. Developed in partnership with Steiner & Associates, the GameWorks Newport location will employ over 100 people. In addition, the location utilizes over 8 miles of cable for its state-of-the-art games and displays a specialized sports montage mural composed of over 1 billion video pixels.

The array of GameWorks games and attractions is incomparable. The Newport location offers over 100 games with something for all ages. Grouped into themed zones, the games are easy to locate. The Ford Racing Zone offers the best racing games in the world including the 180-mile an hour, fast track Indy 500 with cars for 6 racers at a time. The Sports Zone offers players the opportunity to test their skills at everything from football and soccer to fishing and golf. One of the most popular attractions at GameWorks is the Big Win Zone where guests try their hand at old-fashioned midway games and win valuable prizes to take home. Other favorites include the Big Win Super Spin and Dance-Dance Revolution. At GameWorks, when you come for the fun you can also enjoy an incredible dinner. Jax Grill offers the ultimate in casual dining with an exhibition kitchen. The complete lunch and dinner menus feature a variety of entrees and specialty items, including grilled favorites, slow roasted ribs and chicken, unbelievably flavorful steaks, seafood, homemade pastas, freshly prepared salads, gourmet burgers, pizzas and incredible desserts for two. The house dessert specialty is the "Flaming S'More Platter" for two. Full patio dining is available, and the site has room for groups up to 1000.

The Arena Bar is located right in the middle of all this action. Surrounded by state-of-the art games and attractions, visitors can cheer on friends while enjoying the high energy atmosphere and an ice cold beer, sports scoreboard and video wall, or favorite shots and frozen cocktails. Jax Grill specialties are served right at the bar, including the popular Bucket of BBQ Wings or Ribs with an added Bucket of Beer! The intimate and comfortable Hopscotch Lounge, one of two bars inside the GameWorks complex, offers a large selection of extraordinary specialty drinks including an exceptional selection of signature martinis and the infamous frozen Mega-ritas - 48oz. of total cool. Everyone will enjoy icy blended margaritas made with any choice of premium tequilas while indulging upon delicious appetizers, or an exciting game of billiards on three championship tables. GameWorks is located at the Newport on the Levee complex in Newport, Kentucky, adjacent to downtown Cincinnati. The location is open everyday at 11am until 1am, and until 2am Thursday through Saturday. There is no admission cost to the public, and all ages are invited until 10p.m. when guests must be 18 or over.
