The RF5C164 is a sound chip made by Ricoh. It is capable of playing 8 channels of 8-bit PCM audio simultaneously. It is used in the Sega Mega-CD add-on.

A similar (but not identical) sound chip to the RF5C164 was the RF5c68, notably used in Fujitsu's FM Towns series of computers and on Sega's System 18 and System 32 arcade system boards. This chip is used in conjunction with the YM2612, borrowed from the Sega Mega Drive.
