Development process

An editing overlay on artist Bud Thon's near-finalized cover artwork contains a hand-written notation requesting the artist remove the large black tail on one of the cover's animal characters. The notation reads "Scitek tail out", likely a reference to Scitex imaging workstations, an early image editor which predated Adobe Photoshop. Curiously, while the offending tail was removed from the American release, it can still be seen on the Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian releases of Rolo to the Rescue.[1]
