Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications was a telecommunications company formed in 2001 as a joint venture between Sony and Ericsson.

The company produced numerous mobile phones, which in turn ran games which were published or licensed by Sega. At its peak in 2007, the company was the fourth largest vendor of mobile phones, with 9% global market share.

Sony purchased Ericsson's shares of the venture in 2012, turning the company into Sony Mobile Communications Inc. (ソニーモバイルコミュニケーションズ株式会社). In this form the company exclusively created Android-powered smartphones, rather than maintaining its own unique mobile platforms. Sony Mobile was absorbed into the larger Sony Corporation in 2021.
