SuperSonic Software Ltd is a British video game development company, founded in 1989 in Leamington Spa [2], Warwickshire, England, by British programmer and software engineer Peter Williamson[3] (Peter Lee Williamson, a former programmer at Codemasters).

Peter started working as a programmer at Codemasters, having to suspend his studies for a year to do so, and instead of going back to studying, he ended up founding Supersonic.

Joined in its venture by the likes of Neil Adamson, Chris Graham, Lyndon Sharp and David Whittaker, the core of Supersonic Software Ltd was formed, initially taking on projects outsourced from Codemasters, of which the Micro Machines series of games, released for several platforms, including the Mega Drive, Master System and Game Gear, is the most remembered.
