Susumu Takatsuka (高塚 進) is a Japanese media researcher and product planner who has worked with Sony since 1996. He worked at Sega AM2 for 3 years as a fighting game animator.

Career

After graduating from Tama Art University, Susumu Takatsuka's first job was as a animator or motion designer at Sega Enterprises, working on fighting games developed by Sega AM2, namely Virtua Fighter 2 and Fighting Vipers. In 1996 he left Sega to join Sony Interactive Entertainment, producing the Ape Escape and Fantavision games[3].

Takatsuka left the video game industry in 2002, joining Sony Music Entertainment to design the UX of their audio download service. Starting in 2005, he also became a product planner for Sony Audio Visuals's Walkman. He was promoted to senior product planner at Sony Mobile Communications in 2008 and worked on their Smartwear range[1].

In 2015 his jobs expanded to include both Product Planner and Researcher, specializing in "Optical sensor, Biometric information sensor and Computer vision". In 2021 he became a visiting researcher for Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology[1].
