Bloodshow

Album Dates

Started up my research again on Digital albums. Anyway, I've put 2014 for all four because on Amazon they all came out on the same day while on iTunes the dates vary wildly so I can't really make much of it.

On iTunes it says that the Samurai Blood Soundtrack came out in July of 2011 which would be two months before the game itself launched while Soundtrack 2 came out in January of 2012. Alexandria says it came out in July of 2012 so that's reasonable because the game came out a month earlier. However, the Hyakki Taisen Emaki Music Collection is said to have came out on May 9, 2012 which would mean that it came out BEFORE Alexandria. The thing about that is that is that Amazon says this same album came out on May 9, 2014. Exact same date, different year, which leads me to believe that iTunes is wrong about the date on this and possibly the rest as well. If you want me to change them to iTunes dates just tell me.

To add to this I have no idea when Hyakki Taisen Emaki (The website url has "Mononoke" in it so I guess it would called "Mononoke Bloodshow") came out exactly except for it's website saying it was voted the best iOS game of 2012 which means it came out the same year as Alexandria. I THINK the website says it came out in April but going over to the Alexandria site sends you to a fully English website on SEGA JP that says it is the second installment of Bloodshow so Hyakki coming out in April before Alexandria would be odd. Hyakki also has a "2" in it's title and I can't make out why it does. JaxTH (talk) 12:06, 7 January 2015 (CST)

I would suggest the Amazon digital downloads came after the iTunes ones, which is why there's discrepancies. Also the translations for the soundtracks might be iffy - I think it's meant to be "Alexandria Taisen Emaki Gakkyokushuu" (アレクサンドリア大戦絵巻楽曲集) instead of "music collection" - vgmdb isn't that good at this sort of thing
Anyway, Japanese dates
Genpei Taisen Emaki: 2011-06-02 http://emaki.sega.jp/jp/pc/about/
-soundtrack 1
-soundtrack 2
Hyakki Taisen Emaki: 2012-04 (hence 2?)
-music collection
I don't know anything about this series but Genpei looks like feudal Japan, and Hyakki looks like feudal Japan... plus demons. It's Japanese folklore, hence probably why it wasn't released internationally. Think Red Dead Redemption and then the DLC - Red Dead Redemption + Zombies.
Alexandria Taisen Emaki looks more like a spin-off (or a proper sequel?), because it's a totally different conflict (this is Greek Empire vs. Egypt, Alexander the Great stuff)
Basically it's one of those situations where they redefine which is the official sequel to the first game. Aka lets screw with people. -Black Squirrel (talk) 13:01, 7 January 2015 (CST)
