Twenty-one Company, Ltd. (有限会社トゥウェンティワン) is a Japanese company which currently owns the rights to the Technosoft brand. Twenty-one purchased Technosoft in 2001, making it an R&D division of the company. Sega acquired the rights to the Technosoft back catalogue from Twenty-one in 2016, though had previously collaborated with projects such as Thunder Force VI in 2008.
Company
Little is know about Twenty-one Company. Game Developer Research Institute claims it to be a pachinko company but does not provide a source.[3] Thunder Force Wiki instead speculates that Technosoft purchased the 6-story Sasebo office building in which they reside (currently known as the 21 Sky Building[4]) and formed Twenty-one to manage and lease the building's office space to outside clients - providing a stable source of income should Technosoft's game business dry up.[5]
