The Saturn version can switch between SegaSaturn Mode, an exclusive enhanced version of the game, and Arcade Mode, a faithful port of the Neo Geo original. It also has a bonus disc of extra content called the Twinkle Star Eternal Box. The Dreamcast version only contains a straightforward port of the arcade version.

The Dreamcast version supports Japanese, English, and Spanish and defaults to whichever language the system is set to use.

The SegaSaturn mode contains exclusive character artwork, the boss characters (Dark Ran, Mevious, and Queen Memory) are playable without a cheat code, and there is an extra character (Meirin) not in any other version of the game. The Dreamcast version shortens "WEAPON" to "WEPON."

The pane separating each player's side of the screen was redesigned for the SegaSaturn Mode to feature Sprites (and the borders on each side are different as well).
