Uzu Keobukseon (우주거북선, lit. Space Turtle Ship) is a Sega Mega Drive vertical shoot-'em-up developed and published by Samsung. Released exclusively in South Korea in 1992, it was produced to support the company's officially-licensed rebadging of the hardware, the Super Aladdin Boy.
The game is the only released Mega Drive title produced by Samsung's in-house developers. Two additional titles, City Heroes and Princess Fighter, were planned but never released.

Story
In the year 2020, the Power Computer (파워컴퓨터) that controls the world has been infected by a virus and started attacking humans. Two young pilots, Titi (티티) and Koti (코티), must take command of the Space Turtle Ship (우주거북선) and stop the rogue computer.
Gameplay
The game is a vertically scrolling shoot-'em-up in which the player controls a flying turtle ship, a Korean warship used from the 15th to 19th centuries to defend against Japanese invasions. The rounds start in a prehistoric setting but move into ancient villages, modern cities, and eventually into space and into the heart of the "Power Computer." Every round ends with a fight against a large boss, with a counter indicating how much more damage the boss can take before it is destroyed.
The ship moves in any direction using the D-Pad. It fires by pressing , which can be held for continuous fire. The ship is equipped with two different weapons, which can be switched by pressing . Both weapons have unlimited ammunition and can be upgraded simultaneously by collecting power-ups. The appearance of the ship changes to look more futuristic with each weapon level. The ship is also armed with a limited cache of bombs that can be launched by pressing (holding for longer before releasing launches the bombs farther). These bombs explode in a large area and damage enemies caught in the blast.
With each weapon the player collects, the ship earns an extra hit. Once the ship is hit by an attack, it degrades to the previous tier of weapons until the ship is down to its starting weapon. The ship is destroyed if it is hit while on the starting weapon, costing a life, and it restarts at the last passed checkpoint (with the base weapon and without any speed upgrades). Losing another life before passing another checkpoint restarts the player at the next checkpoint back (until reaching the beginning of the round). The game ends if the player runs out of lives, but there are unlimited continues. There are three difficulty levels (쉬움, 보통, and 어려움).
Weapons
The ship has two weapons, which can be upgraded together by collecting power-ups. There are three tiers of weapons, and the first tier has three levels.
Tier 1 | |
---|---|
The first weapon is a conical spreadshot. It shoots a spread of three shots initially, but it increases to three and then five shots when upgraded.
The second weapon shoots directly forwards and to each side. The first upgrade adds two curved shots forwards, and the second upgrade adds two angled shots backwards. | |
Tier 2 | |
The first weapon shoots three rings forwards and two rings backwards.
The second weapon shoots a hail of lasers forwards. | |
Tier 3 | |
The first weapon shoots wide waves forwards.
The second weapon shoots six shuriken-like projectiles at six different angles. |
