Metal Lancer is an unreleased Sega Mega Drive game programmed by Yuji Naka between development of Ghouls'n Ghosts and Sonic the Hedgehog. It is a basic space combat simulator which stars a female robot pilot, and boasts complex scaling effects during gameplay.[2]

History

Metal Lancer was frst revealed by Yuji Naka in a 2016 interview conducted by Game Center CX's Masayuki Kibe.[3] Later, in June 2021, Naka posted a screenshot of the game's placeholder title screen to his Twitter.[4]
