Taeko Kawata (川田 妙子), née Taeko Yamada (山田 妙子), is a freelance female seiyū born in Tokyo. Her last name is sometimes misromanized as "Kawada". Some of her favorite foods are the Japanese pancake, burning meat sushi, and soft-serve ice cream. She stands at 155 centimeters tall (5 feet, 1 inch) and her blood type is O. She was previously affiliated with 81 Produce.
In the Sonic the Hedgehog game series and Sonic X, she provides the voice for Amy Rose. Due to being on maternity leave from 2000-2001, her role was temporarily taken over by actress Emi Motoi for Sonic Shuffle.
