iOS, formerly known as iPhone OS, is a mobile operating system developed by American technology company Apple for their line of iPhone smartphones and iPad tablets. The primary rival to the Open Handset Alliance's Android mobile operating system, it was first released in June 2007, and has played host to numerous ports of first and third-party Sega games.

Games and software published on iOS are made available through Apple's App Store.
