vbSMS is a Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear emulator for Windows, written by John "brom" Casey in January 2006. It was written in Visual Basic, thus the "vb" in the name.
Development of the original vbSMS stopped in beta stage, lacking sound, with only partial Game Gear emulation and working by dragging and dropping ROMs into the emulator. However, a enhanced version was developed by Kevin "olaf" Miller, named initially olafsms and later vbSMS+, which was also the base for Zega Alpha.
