Gens32 is a modified version of the Sega Mega Drive emulator Gens. It was developed by DarkDancer and is based upon the Gens version 2.10 source code. Gens32 versions 2.0x and later are based on Gens 2.12a with elements from Gens Plus! version 0.0.3.39.^[2]

After the original source code was lost, Gens32 was later reworked under the name Gens32 Surreal with improved performance and a new sound system. Another version, Gens32 Ray, was briefly made available for PCs not fast enough to run Surreal.^[3]
