The Virtua Striker series is a set of arcade-style football games, most of whom were developed by Sega AM2. It debuted in 1994 with the release of Virtua Striker, and the franchise continues to this day. It uses the same "Virtua" naming scheme as Virtua Racing, Virtua Fighter, Virtua Cop and Virtua Tennis

The Virtua Striker series differs from most Sega franchises as it has rarely left arcades. Only Virtua Striker 2 Ver. 2000.1 for the Sega Dreamcast and Virtua Striker 3 Ver. 2002 for the Nintendo GameCube have been released on home systems (not including the Virtua Striker mini-game seen in Sega Superstars). It is assumed no Virtua Striker games were released on the Sega Saturn because Sega had planned to support it with Victory Goal games.
