The European version adds a Virgin logo screen before the Interplay logo, to reflect the region's publisher change.

A language select is added to the options menu in the European version, giving the player the choice to play in English, French or German. The title is also shifted upwards slightly.

The Mega Drive version replaces the cutscene of the vikings falling into a time portal, shown inbetween each time period, with unique cutscenes related to each time period. These cutscenes are spliced inbetween SNES gameplay for the Definitive Edition in Blizzard Arcade Collection.

The Sega and Interplay logos, as well as the "Licensed by Sega Enterprises, Ltd." string on the title screen, were removed from the Mega Drive version included in Blizzard Arcade Collection.
