Griel's Quest for the Holy Porrón is a homebrew puzzle game for the Sega Mega Drive. It was ported from Griel’s Quest for the Sangraal that was released as a puzzle game entry in the 2015 MSXDev competition. It was originally developed by Karoshi Corporation for MSX 1, and ported to the Sega Mega Drive by Moon-Watcher in 2017.[1] Apparently, this game originated from an old MSX 2 game, Griel no Seihai from 1989.[2]
The physical version of this game was published by 1985 Alternativo in April 2018. The game later was released as freeware after stocks of boxed cartridges of the game ran out.[3]

This is the last work that 1985 Alternativo has published for Mega Drive. It is the adaptation to the Sega console of the original MSX Griel's Quest for the Saangral that Karoshi Corporation developed in 2005, in turn, based on an MSX2 classic: Momonoki House, from 1990. Programmed by Mun, with graphics by Daniel Nevado (author of the cover) and music by David Sánchez, you will enjoy an enormously addictive intelligence game with a medieval setting. It was published a few months ago, in April of this year 2018. |

Gameplay
The general mechanics of the game are very simple: in each level, you must get the key that opens the access door to the next level. The mechanics around which the game is based are also simple: there are 3 types of enemies in the box that makes up each level, and 3 types of weapons, one for each type of enemy.
Our protagonist can only occupy a space where there is a weapon if he picks it up, and he can only carry one weapon at a time. Thus, enemies and weapons alike block your way to the key and the door. So you must use the right weapon on the right enemy, in the right order to proceed.[5]
