On the options screen, set "Music Test" to 03 and "Sound Test" to 24. Return to the main menu and press Left+C to begin a new game.

If entered correctly, holding C during gameplay will allow the player to freely move the ball with the D-Pad, while Up+A+C will enter a bonus stage. The HUD will also show some debugging information[1].
