Crypton Future Media, Inc. (クリプトン・フューチャー・メディア株式会社) is a Japanese music company most notable for its "Vocaloid" products; speech synthesis software using technology developed by Yamaha to create "computer music".
Crypton has released several Vocaloid "characters" since 2004, however its most famous by far is that of Hatsune Miku (CV01), first released in 2007. Hatsune Miku's success in Japan led to the character and technology being licensed out to video game publishers, including Sega. The 2009 release of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA marked the first of many Sega/Crypton Hatsune Miku projects, with games still being produced to this day.
