Namcot for Sega Genesis
While not released outside of Japan, code exists to change "SEGA MEGA DRIVE" to "SEGA GENESIS" on the introductory Namcot logo if the game detects it is being played on a Western system. Strangely, this even occurs on European systems despite the "Genesis" branding typically being used in North America.

Start the game, and press 
during the opening sequence[1]. A sound will confirm correct entry.
Expert mode
Wait on the title screen until a demo plays. During the demo, press .[2] A sound effect plays to indicate correct entry. The title screen should now be blue. Start the game to play on Expert difficulty. Note that entering the Options screen turns the title screen back to red and requires re-entering the code.
