Metropolis Street Racer Opel Challenge is a pre-release version of Metropolis Street Racer, built to both advertise the game, and the then-new Opel Speedster. It was available for free from retailers in the UK with pre-orders of Virtua Tennis.[1][2][3]
The demo allows players to race either an Opel Speedster or the UK model, the Vauxhall VX220 around a single track (Asakusa Japan) in either one or two player modes. The Speedster effectively became the signature car of MSR, featuring predominantly on the front cover and being the only car selectable in certain modes.
The internal label for the known disc is "THIS IS A SAMPLE DISK FOR USE IN THE OFFICE ONLY DO NOT SELL DO NOT CARRY OUT FROM THE OFFICE".
