History
Champion Baseball was a hugely successful arcade game in Japan, even receiving its own dedicated parlours in the country (of the sort first seen with Space Invaders in 1978). Sega had sold at least 15,000 units in Japan before bringing the game to the US.[8]
The SG-1000 port, however, was criticized for the slow speed, confuse hit detection (is practically impossible to known if the ball was hit or the opposite team catched the ball), simplistic graphics (even for the system's limitations) and grating sound effects.
