FIL (France Image Logiciel) was a leading French software publisher and distributor in the 1980s. They were the exclusive French distributor for Activision[2], releasing their home computer ports of Sega games, including a French exclusive port of Enduro Racer for the Thomson MO5. In October 1988 it was announced that they had obtained the home computer publishing rights to Shinobi to be released on their new "Rebel" label and to be produced by The Sales Curve.[2] Shortly afterwards the company went into administration,[3] falling into liquidation by the end of the year.[1][4] FIL's publishing rights to Shinobi would eventually get picked up by Virgin Games,[5] with The Sales Curve continuing to produce it.
