Blasto is a 1978 game by Sega/Gremlin for Sega Blockade hardware. You play as a spaceship and have a limited time (presumably set by the operator) to clear a board full of mines. There is only one button, which shoots. If a mine explodes, its explosion can take out nearby mines, but also hit you, sending you back to the starting position and costing time (but there are no "lives"; the only way to game over is to run out of time). Touching a mine will not hurt you. There is no level wrap; clearing a boundary and then going through will only keep you where you are on screen. The attract screen says "SINGLE PLAYER"; whether or not there are multiplayer configurations is unknown (though there are two score counters on the top of the screen...).

Blasto is a 1978 game by Gremlin Industries for Blockade hardware.

Gameplay

The player controls a spaceship and has a limited time (presumably set by the operator) to clear a board full of mines. There is only one button, which shoots. If a mine explodes, its explosion can take out nearby mines, but can also hit the player, sending them back to the starting position and costing time (but there are no "lives"; the only way to game over is to run out of time). Touching a mine will not hurt the player. There is no level wrap; clearing a boundary and then going through will only keep the player where they are on screen.
