The May 1996 issue of Sega Video Magazine is an entry in the Sega Video Magazine series of promotional VHS cassettes for Japan.

This is the first Sega Video Magazine after the release of the "white" model Sega Saturn, and thus sees a slight presentational upgrade. The "Game Insider" segment features an interview with Sonic Team, or more specifically, Yuji Naka, Naoto Ohshima and Takashi Iizuka about NiGHTS into Dreams. The animated film Sonic the Hedgehog is also advertised, as is the Virtua Fighter animated series.
