Border Break Airburst (ボーダーブレイク エアバースト) is a "sequel" (or perhaps more appropriately, "update") to Border Break. Though largely the same game, it allows for twice as many players to compete at once (40 in total), a new aerial dash manoeuvre and sea-based levels. Airburst carries on the version numbers from Border Break, so is known as "Ver. 2.0". An update, "Ver. 2.5" was released the following year.
A soundtrack album, Border Break Airburst Original Soundtrack, was released shortly after the ver 2.1 update.
