After Sega left the home hardware business, Sega of Japan started assisting some third-party developers who either worked with them before or work on their arcade platforms with home system releases. This is indicated by a "パートナーズ" ("Partner") symbol on a game's entry in their various catalogue pages. Exactly what role they have in these partnerships is unknown; what is known is that Sega is not the publisher in these cases.
