Mortal Kombat (モータルコンバット) was a revolutionary fighting game developed by Midway. It utilised digitized graphics and a high amount of violence to stand out from the crowd.

Gameplay

Basic Moves

On a six-button controller, facing right:

  • Low Punch: A
  • High Punch: X
  • Low Kick: C
  • High Kick: Z
  • Block: B/Y
  • Uppercut: Down + A/X
  • Crouching Kick: Down + C/Z
  • Leg Sweep: Left + C
  • Roundhouse Kick: Left + Z
  • Throw: Right + C/Z

Characters

Liu Kang: "Once a member of the super secret White Lotus Society, Liu Kang left the organization to represent Shaolin temples in the tournament. Kang is strong in his beliefs and despises Shang Tsung."
