Commandos 2 is the sequel to the 1998 PC game, Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines. It was originally set to be released for the Sega Dreamcast, but was cancelled. Other versions gained the subtitle Men of Courage before release.

The Dreamcast version of Commandos 2 was likely cancelled after publisher Eidos Interactive dropped support for the console, however the PC version of the game was delayed (eventually arriving in September 2001) which may have been a factor. Console versions of Commandos 2 were eventually released - to the PlayStation 2 and Xbox nearly a year later.
