Side Pocket: Special Edition is an unreleased update to Side Pocket, set for release on the Sega Mega-CD in late 1993 or early 1994. Publisher Data East advertised the game as being "out now", being one of two prerequisite games (the other being Panic!) needed to enter a competition to win a WWF Royal Rumble pinball table.
Little is known about the enhancements behind Side Pocket: Special Edition, but it would have contained full motion video cutscenes (which look to have been repurposed for the sega Saturn game, Minnesota Fats: Pool Legend).
