On the 2 player character select screen, with player one highlight Ryu , hold L+R and press Up Up. Then release L+R and press Up Up.

With player two highlight Ken , hold L+R and press Up Up. Then release L+R and press Up Up.

Now select Ryu with weak punch (default X) and select Ken with strong punch (default Z). If done correctly, before the battle begins, Bison will fly in and challenge both players to a simultaneous 2 VS 1 battle. Defeat Bison to unlock Team Mode on the main menu.
