Jessica is given a dress to wear in the overseas intro.
Damnd laughs at the end of the intro in Japan.
All the profiles screens are different, with the Japanese version having narration and unique artwork.
The title screen has a registered trademark symbol in Japan, and uses different wording for the "PRESS START" text.
Slightly different options screens. By default, the Japanese version gives 5 credits while the overseas version only gives 3. Both versions have 3 lives per credit, though the overseas version represents it with "3" on this screen instead of "2" (0 counting as a life in both games).
Character heights are measured in feet and inches in the overseas version, while in Japan it is just feet.
Poison and Roxy have less revealing clothes internationally.
When characters are hit by sharp objects, there are blood splatters in the Japanese version (like the arcade game). In the overseas version you just get the standard small explosion effect.
Damnd is renamed Thrasher overseas.
Sodom is renamed Katana overseas, possibly due to the Biblical reference.
The sign for the bar becomes a sign for a club, despite still clearly being a bar.
The graffiti on the bathroom stalls has been changed.
Some of the signs in the uptown stage were changed.

Belger seems to ride a wheelchair in the NTSC-J version, while overseas it has been changed to look more like a throne.
The ending has an extra scene with Guy and Cody in the NTSC-J version.
