Puyo Puyo Koi Monogatari (ぷよぷよ恋物語), originally named as BGV Puyo Puyo Koi Monogatari, is an auto playable game, developed and originally published by Compile for the MSX2 computers, released in September 1991, featuring characters from Madou Monogatari series. It was available on Disk 1 of Disc Station #29 (ディスクステーション29号). In it, an animated short love story about a duo of unnamed pink and light blue Puyo in a Wild West-themed saloon, plays. Both of them are surrounded by green, bandit Puyos, several times. In addition, a quartet of Carbuncle variants appears occasionally as well.

This game would be re-released by D4 Enterprise in August 2024 on Project EGG with permission of Sega to use the character rights, stand-alone from other Disc Station #29 content.

    History

    Legacy

Music and SFX from Puyo Puyo Koi Monogatari were used directly in the MSX version of Puyo Puyo, as Disc Station #29 was released almost two months ahead before Puyo Puyo was released.
