Guardian Angels Safety Patrol is an unreleased Sega Mega Drive game set to be published by Nuvision Entertainment. Based on the New York-based volunteer crime prevention organization, the Guardian Angels,[1][2] it was initially announced at Summer CES 1991[3] and set to be released in early 1992,[1] but was cancelled for unknown reasons.
History
Circumstantial evidence suggests that Nuvision's Bean Ball Benny, an equally unreleased Mega Drive title, may have evolved into Guardian Angels Safety Patrol. Programmer Charlie Heath recalls that, at the time of its development, Bean Ball Benny lacked a license. As that game featursd a crime-fighting vigilante patrolling urban streets and subways,[4] it is speculated that it was reworked into Guardian Angels following the acquisition of a somewhat-recognizable license.
