Miscellaneous unreleased games

From Sega Retro

I don't know how to deal with the Coleco stuff. Documentation is horrible right now.

Coleco made the Colecovision. It was nice. Coleco then made the Adam computer, which is like a Colecovision except with more RAM, disk drives and is a computer. It was less nice.

Coleco then planned to make an expansion module for the Colecovision the Super Game Module (expansion module #3), which basically added the Adam's features to the Colecovision console. There were going to be a dozen "Super Games" for the expansion, making use of that whopping 30kB of RAM and 128kB of cartridge/disk space. The Super Game Module didn't happen - Coleco pulled out of the video game market in 1985.

But some of the games were still made, and because the expansion module was pretty much identical to the Adam, they were re-branded as Adam games and sold. Sometimes.

  • Buck Rogers: Planet of Zoom (apparently bundled with the Adam at some point)
  • Zaxxon
  • SubRoc - this was not commercially released. It was released to a close-knit Adam community in 1985, and Coleco demanded that the copyright information would be removed by distributors in return (seriously it was "hack our game plz"). But people didn't bother but there are apparently multiple versions of this online because of that

I can't find Super Turbo at all. Presumably it was an enhanced version of Turbo and isn't dumped

so yeah, four unreleased Colecovision games which weren't strictly Colecovision games. One is also an unreleased Adam game. Another is a non-commercially released Adam game. All of them have been given the wrong names by databases.
