BC Racers is a racing game developed and published by Core Design in 1993 for the Sega Mega CD and Sega 32X as well as the PC and 3DO. The game is set in the same universe as Chuck Rock, and even features him as a playable character.

Story

The game takes place in the Chuck Rock universe. A millionaire playboy caveman Millstone Rockafella has organized a bike race. The winner will receive the Boulderdash Bike.

Gameplay

There are four difficulty settings; Easy, Medium, Hard, and Rockhard. Each settings has 8 tracks making for a total of 32 tracks in the game. There are also 8 themes including desert wastes, volcanic areas, and massive jungles. Each track has four laps. Each bike can use turbo to increase their speed temporarily. No weapon power-ups can be found in the game although riders in the sidecar can attack other bikers. The rider in the sidecar can be controlled by a second player. If an opponent is hit enough and is caused to crash extra points are rewarded. Damage to the bike can be regained by collecting powerups near the starting line.

Version Differences

The Mega CD version had a two player cooperative mode where one player controls the driver and the other controls the fighting, steering, and turbo. The 32X version offers 2 player split screen.
