The Sega European Championships 1993 was a series of events held across Europe during 1993. The full details (and correct name) is currently unknown.
Over the course of 1993 Sega hosted a variety of gaming competitions across several European countries, in which two groups; "junior" and "senior" would compete on a variety of Sega Mega Drive and Sega Mega-CD games for a high score. The winners of the indivdual tournaments went on to play a grand final, held in Austria on the 4th September, 1993.
The nature of this tournament and spotty media coverage of the time means the details are difficult to assertain. It is thought that events were held between April and June to decide who would represent each country, though it is not known at this time how many countries were ultimately involved.
